A few teas Ned recommends as summer turns toward fall. Keep swiping to discover our current picks —->

SILVER NEEDLE: Layers of flavor mark our Silver Needle. Generational cultivation of the Da Bai tea bush to a local cultivar No. 6 yields a signature spring Yin Zhen. Handcrafted buds open to fresh, cooling flavors of honeysuckle & apricot. Harvested March 2026, farm elevation is 800 meters.

ANJI WHITE: One of the first lots we tasted this Spring, Anji White is a wonderful choice for late summer. Smooth and cooling, liquor is sweet, ever-so-lightly vegetal, showing umami flavors. Steeps to a light apple-green color, with an unusually smooth, notable palate feel due to high amino acid content.

ORANGE HIBISCUS: Whatever way the Fall weather goes, OH will accommodate. Zesty flavors of ginger, orange, rose hips, and hibiscus quench, cool, and invigorate, served hot or chilled. Caffeine-free, a great beverage chilled in the refrigerator ready for refreshment or served with food.

Try our convenient iced tea sachet version of Orange Hibiscus

A supplier is a partner. Over years of working together, a shared guidance develops between tea maker and tea buyer. With each harvest, the processing of the leaf is revisited bringing out new flavors and aromas.

In 2004, Ned traveled to Fenghuang to meet Mr. Lin Ze, our supplier of Dan Cong oolongs. At the time, Lin Ze’s company was young and small, his reputation growing. Silk Road was among his first customers. In the years since, he has crafted exceptional lots of Dan Cong oolongs such as Honey Orchid, One Bush, Peach Fragrance, and Orchid Fragrance, along with rare, small-production teas that are highlights of our seasonal offerings.

Crafting tea is Lin Ze’s passion. His skill in handling and processing the leaf has endeared him to lovers of tea throughout China. We are honored to offer his teas and to have shared this partnership for more than two decades. Shop his collections with the link in bio!

New Greens, Blacks & Whites

Early spring yields only small quantities of the season’s finest leaves. Traveling and timing our visits with tea growers and tea makers, we are often able to find exceptional teas.

Our selection of 2026 harvest teas reflect the richness of the soil, the offerings of wild and semi-wild farms, and the craftmanship of our tea partners. Each tea we offer in this collection is Pre-Qing Ming.

Order now to enjoy these wonderful flavors of the season. Link in bio 🔗 # looseleaftea
