Tavern at the Mission is the creation of restaurateurs David Wilhelm and Gregg Solomon who have separately developed numerous Orange County restaurants over the past 25 years, including Savannah Chop House, Jimmy's Famous Tavern, Barbacoa, Chat Noir, Diva, Sorrento Grille & French 75. David and Gregg are residence of San Juan Capistrano and created this new concept as a neighborhood gathering spot

for drinking, dining, socializing, and all of life's celebrations. It's stunning view of the historic San Juan Capistrano Mission is the backdrop for a casual lunch, relaxing dinner, weekend brunch, happy hour or late-night snacking. The beautiful open patio is surrounded by shade trees, roses and succulents overlooking the majestic remains of the mission. Our location offers walkable sites to enjoy the historic part of downtown San Juan Capistrano.

Join us for the final week of our June specials before we welcome fresh summer flavors next week! 🌿

Coming soon… fresh figs paired with Prosciutto, blackberries, arugula, Sonoma goat cheese, olive oil, balsamic syrup, Maldon sea salt & Tellicherry pepper — simply divine. 🤌

Also returning by popular demand: Spiced Butternut Squash Tortellacci with roasted pignolias, honey, sage brown butter & white truffle oil. 🍂✨

Of course, Stanley’s famous Pasta alla Nerano and our Florentine favorite Pollo au B***o will still be on the menu.

🤠 Howdy TATM Friends!

Wow… our first night of Cowboy Tacos was a huge success! 🌮🔥 We served up 120 tacos, and it was the perfect surf & turf kickoff.

The crowd favorites? Our “Vaqueros Style” Filet Mignon — fire-grilled and basted with spicy Cowboy Butter — and our Blackened Alaskan Cod topped with our spicy Salsa Verde. 🌶️

The margaritas were flowing, the cowboy hats were out, and a rootin’ tootin’ good time was had by all! 🍹🤠

We can’t wait to welcome you back for night two tomorrow. Come join us for more tacos, margaritas, and a little spicy fun!

Each year we transform Tavern at the Mission and Tumbleweed Bar into a festive gathering place because helping our guests celebrate the holiday season is one of our favorite traditions.

Whether you’re planning a ladies’ lunch, an extended family dinner, or a company holiday party, our team is here to make your event memorable from start to finish.

If you’re organizing a large group, we recommend booking early, as prime dates fill quickly. Visit the “Parties & Banquets” section on our website to inquire about availability, menus, and pricing—we’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
