Mayoral Dice Game

One of our favorite moments from last year’s 65th anniversary and first ever inaugural Celia’s Day was the impromptu dice game that took place with the Mayor.

Mayor Lurie wanted to commend our hard working kitchen crew, so I guided him to the back of house. My friends and family can attest it’s near impossible to leave our kitchen without shooting dice and the mayor was no exception to the rule! After a quick glance at his PR team (who agreed as long as there was no money on the line) the mayor joined in on an epic dice game.

Mayor Lurie had the highest roll going into the final throw. Our prep cook extraordinaire Jorge launched his dice into the air and exclaimed “twelve!” Lo and behold the dice showed double 6 and the group hooped and hollered in excitement, it’ll be a moment we will not soon forget.
