When you apply heat to your breast, your blood vessels dilate, circulation increases and your nervous system reads it as a safe, calm signal. The hormone responsible for milk production (Oxytocin) rises and your milk ejection reflex fires before your baby even latches.

That means; Faster letdown, stronger flow from the first sip, less frustration for baby at the breast, more milk transferred per feed and breast emptying more completely which signals your body to make more.

A warm cloth. A heat pack. A warm shower before feeding. Even gently massaging the breast with warm hands works and this can take just two minutes!
