OPENED IN 1907

The Connecticut Yankee is the latest addition to the Pour Guys’ list of classic San Francisco bars. The Yankee was built virtually by hand by the Salvotti family in 1907, and has been a local institution for everyone from our ditch diggers to the city mayor ever since. The place is steeped in rich history – from housing a bootleg operation and speakeasy during Prohibition, to serving as a favorite spot for local artists and the former art director of Rolling Stone magazine in the 70s – the Yankee is truly a San Francisco gem. The Pour Guys took over in 2015, with a commitment to maintaining the bar’s grit and old school charm while integrating calculated changes typical of the team, such as a revamped food program. The Connecticut Yankee is sure to remain a favorite for locals, while becoming a go-to for new visitors seeking great food and an authentic San Francisco vibe.

The jets own the sky this weekend and the whole city is looking up. When the last pass rolls over the bay, roll up the hill to us, cold ones ready and the game already on. Potrero has the view and the seats.

Yes, we print our own money. The Connecticut Yankee gift certificate has been passing hands on this corner longer than most of the neighborhood, and it still spends wicked good behind this bar. Grab one for the New Englander in your life who misses home.

Football Sunday and every screen is spoken for. The Niners are home, the early games are on for our East Coast crowd, and the coffee turns into something better right around kickoff. Get here before the good seats go.

Saturday on the hill, the patio is open and the pours are honest. Potrero afternoons were made for this, a cold one in the sun and nowhere you have to be. Bring a friend, we saved the good table.

Back home the maples are turning and everybody knows it. Out here it is sweater weather by our standards and a warm room by anybody's, so we keep the whole New England thing going strong on a Potrero corner. Come get the feeling without the flight.

The Wild Card is here and so are we, doors open and the right channel already on. If the Sox are still dancing, this is the room where every pitch lands the way it should, three thousand miles closer to home than it has any right to feel. Pull up a stool by first pitch.

Three thousand miles from Fenway and it has never mattered less. October is here, the Sox are in it, and if you know, you know where to watch it. Every pitch, this room, our people.

Some walls just tell the whole story. Decades of characters, a few legends, and the kind of nights you had to be there for. This corner has always pulled in the right people. New England in SF, since day one. If you know, you know.
