The Holy Spirit woke me up this morning and said so clearly…
“Take care of My babies. Serve My babies.”
Honestly, it brought me to tears because I knew exactly what He meant.
He was speaking about His babes in Christ the ones who are just beginning to know Him, the ones who are searching, the ones who are hurting, and the ones who are desperate for transformation but may not yet realize that the answer they are searching for is Jesus.
It’s easy to become consumed by the everyday responsibilities of running a business the finances, staffing, schedules, problems, and constant decisions & forget the eternal importance of what we are doing for His Kingdom.
This morning felt like God gently reminding me, “Don’t forget why I gave this to you.”
It took me so many years to understand this Kingdom principle….God doesn’t call us to build businesses simply to make money. He calls us into business to fish for people, plant seeds, make an impact, and help lead people toward transformation.
“Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Matthew 4:19
Your business is your mission field.
God places you in a particular industry, community, or sphere of influence and calls you to step up as a leader not simply to sell or provide a service, but to become a seed planter through everything you are building.
The income may be part of the blessing, but it was never meant to be the ultimate outcome. The true fruit far surpasses money. The fruit is transformation. It’s healing. It’s freedom. It’s families restored, people discipled, and souls saved.
That is Kingdom building.
Adolfo Guzman and I weren’t simply entrusted with a coffee shop. God gave us a space to steward for HIS Kingdom a place where His children can be loved, served, discipled, & reminded that they belong to Him.
Today, 35 different Bible studies, small groups, kingdom classes, gather here throughout the month, bringing together groups and churches from across San Antonio. Within these walls, we have witnessed deliverance, healing, restoration, freedom, and lives changed through the presence of God.
And none of it is because of us. We simply said yes.
Stewardship means recognizing that everything God places in our hands still belongs to Him. This space belongs to Him. The people who walk through these doors belong to HIM. Every chair filled, every prayer prayed, every tear shed, every seed planted, and every person who encounters Jesus matters for eternity.
If you’ve been seeking God, feeling like something is missing, or chasing everything this world offers but still never feeling fulfilled, it’s because you were created for a relationship with a personal Savior. There is a place within you that only Jesus can fill.
I would genuinely love to invite you to come hang out with us at Crowned. We have Bible study with Johnny Valadez every Tuesday night and with Nikki Johnson every Wednesday night. If weekends are easier, Jasmine Joy & Jonetta M. Prendergast each host a powerful women’s Bible study on Saturdays throughout the month. Matt De La Cruz also leads a team of men’s groups throughout the city through EMAW
We also have Worship Night every month lead by Joshua Barreras & Alexis D. Barreras.
You don’t need to know the Bible, have all the right words, or have your life figured out. Just come as you are.
What a beautiful reminder…Crowned has always been about so much more than coffee. It’s about taking care of HIS babies, serving HIS people, and faithfully stewarding what He placed in our hands.
What an honor it is that we get to say yes.
That is the business.
That is the mission.
That is Kingdom. 🤍
