After more than 70 years, this is not an easy message to share.
Since 1953, The Barn Door has been more than just a steakhouse. It has been a place where San Antonio gathered. Over the decades, we have had the honor of watching generations grow up at our tables, sharing meals, laughter, and stories that became part of our history.
Through it all, San Antonio, you have been there with us.
You welcomed us into your traditions. You trusted us with your milestones. You filled our dining rooms with life, and you made The Barn Door what it became. We have been through so much together, and it has truly been the privilege of a lifetime to serve this city the steaks you have come to love.
To our staff, there are not enough words to say thank you. Your hard work, your personalities, your dedication, and your heart are what made The Barn Door special. Over the years, you have all become more than a team. You became family. We are forever grateful for every memory, every laugh, and every moment we shared together, from our Super Bowl parties to the everyday shenanigans. Those memories will live on far beyond these walls. From the bottom of our hearts, we will forever be in your debt.
And to our guests, thank you for walking through our doors, sitting at our tables, and making this place feel like home for more than seven decades. You gave us purpose, and you gave this place its soul.
As we prepare to say goodbye, we invite San Antonio to come visit us one last time. Come enjoy the steaks you love, share your favorite memories, and help us celebrate more than 70 years of tradition.
Beginning May 1st, we will move to a limited, reservation-only schedule. We will
be open Wednesday–Saturday from 5pm–10pm and Sunday from 11:30am–8pm. Reservations can be made at www.thebarndoorrestaurant.com/reservations.
