Dear Followers,
I am pleased to introduce “Epicurean Exec” (.exec), a new page dedicated to the world of fine dining. The page is named after the ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus, born in 341 B.C., renowned for his teachings on the pursuit of pleasure and the avoidance of pain. His philosophy posits that pleasure is the highest good and that pain should be avoided at all costs. He also emphasized the power of friendship and the importance of independent thought. Could there be a more fitting mentor for fine dining and this page? I think not. Fine dining is about self-pleasure that can be shared with friends.
With this understanding, this platform will explore various facets of the industry, including renowned restaurants, the MICHELIN Guide, Forbes, wine, and emerging trends. Additionally, it will cover operations, standards, management, and other areas within the food and beverage sector.
My objectives are twofold. Firstly, I aim to stay updated with the latest trends in fine dining by sharing articles that I come across. These posts will be made on an ad hoc basis as I discover relevant content. Secondly, I intend to write and publish short articles and series on these topics approximately once a month.
Currently, the page features an article on Michelin-starred restaurants, discussing the disparity in their numbers between the USA and Europe, along with potential reasons for this difference. Another article explores the concept of fine dining and its various categories. Both pieces are concise and informative.
I invite you to explore the page and follow it. Your contributions and feedback are always welcome, as I value hearing from each of you.
Thank you for your support. As always, I am at your service.
Sincerely,
Stephen Turner
