Texas Food Truck & Mobile Food Vendor Family:
If you have not already heard, the new Texas Food Truck Law will go into effect in two weeks! PLEASE make sure you are compliant and have all of the information relevant to your operation on obtaining the new, required permit.
Beginning July 1, 2026, a new Texas law (House Bill 2844) requires all food trucks to hold a statewide Mobile Food Vendor (MFV) license issued by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). This replaces individual city/county permits, allowing vendors to operate anywhere in the state under a single license.
🚨 Local health department permits WILL NOT be valid for operation on or after July 1, 2026. 🚨
If you hold a current, State of Texas permit, please check with DSHS on the timeline for renewal.
Also, please note the new fees are MUCH higher than we've all previously paid - including an inspection fee that we have never had to pay.

Please help get the word out to the food truck community! And please pray for all of the food truck operators who may not be able to afford the new permit fee and will be forced to close their business - whether it's temporarily or permanently.
