The Utah Food Security Grant, administered by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF), is a state-funded initiative designed to strengthen Utah’s local food supply chain by enhancing processing capacity for agricultural products grown and raised within the state.

Key Features of the 2025 Grant Program:

Funding Allocation: A total of $1 million is available, with individual grant awards capped at $200,000. Additionally, $20,000 is reserved for microgrants of $5,000 or less, aimed at supporting smaller-scale projects. ​

Eligibility: The grant is open to a variety of Utah-based entities, including for-profit and non-profit organizations, producer cooperatives, and state and local government agencies. ​

Eligible Expenses: Funds can be used for purchasing processing equipment, coolers/freezers, contractor costs (such as plumbing, electrical work, building modifications), portion cutters, slaughter equipment, packaging process upgrades, sorting equipment, and bottling equipment. ​

This grant is open until June 8th.

Western AgCredit is pleased to offer Farm Fresh Advertising Grants to help farmers markets publicize their market. Four-$500 grants will be awarded to farmers markets to help advertise during the 2024 season.

In addition to the advertising grant money, Western AgCredit will provide 200 reusable shopping bags to each selected market. To be eligible, the market must be located in Western AgCredit’s lending territory which includes Utah.

Those selected to receive the grants must be willing to participate in Western AgCredit’s outreach efforts to local food farmers by participating in marketing efforts through our communication channels including articles in Western AgCredit’s newsletter, social media and website spotlights. To apply, please complete the Farm Fresh Advertising Grant Application by April 30, 2024. Recipients will be notified by May 15, 2024.
