Ad Astra Books & Coffee House is more than just a comfortable and interesting place to meet, hang out, study, drink coffee and buy books. Thanks to Downtown Pop Culture, we also offer comics, vinyl, cds, and gifts. Whether it be a place for live music, author readings, poetry nights, book signings, film showings, children's theater, etc., our programming and outreach has come to define our greater

mission: to keep the torch of the imagination lit and to use it to reveal this place called Kansas and these still unexplored Great Plains.

Did y'all know that we use in said bread?

Kernza is a perennial wheat that was developed by The Land Institute and distributed by 🌾

What's unique about Kernza is that you can harvest it for 4 to 5 years before needing to replant this crop. It's also great for droughts because of its looooong roots and aids in limiting top soil erosion 🙌

It also makes for delicious toasts and sandwiches from our breakfast & brunch menu 😋
