One year ago today, we opened the window of Island Grubz On The Go for the very first time.

The move from Hawaiʻi to Oregon. The conversations about whether we should even do this. The uncertainty of starting over somewhere new. The long days, late nights, and countless hours spent preparing for something completely new.

Becoming food truck owners came with challenges we never expected. There was so much to learn, so many mistakes to avoid, and plenty of moments where we questioned ourselves.

But somehow, we survived our first year 😆

Today was the perfect way to celebrate this milestone. We were completely surprised by the love shown to us by Ms. Risa and The Fussy Duck crew. From the thoughtful gifts and leis to the kind words and support, we were truly touched.

A special mahalo to Ms. Risa for believing in us and giving us a place to call home when we were just getting started. Your support, encouragement, and friendship over this past year have meant more to us than you’ll ever know. 🌺

Mahalo to The Donut Queen for creating and selling an Island Grub donut in honor of our anniversary. What a fun and thoughtful surprise! 🍩🌺

To every customer who has stopped by our window, brought a friend, left a review, shared a post, recommended us to others, or simply supported us along the way, mahalo nui.♥️

The support we’ve received from this community has been overwhelming in the best way possible. We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.

You know the classic Loco Moco… rice, gravy, hamburger patties, and eggs over rice🤙🏼

At Island Grubz we also serve our Kalua Moco🌺 Slow roasted kalua pig smothered in rich brown gravy over rice and topped with eggs. Not traditional… but ono every single time🤤
