One night. One menu. One really good cause.

We’ve been fortunate enough to partner with Root North Shore over the years, and we’re honored to help support their mission through this special evening.

Aaron and team have put together a menu that celebrates the best of New England in August - from an interactive reception featuring our friend, Jason Weisman, from Lucky Lips Oysters, live cooking stations led by Root alums, and passed canapés to a multi course dinner with w**e pairings.

There’s only a few seats left. Every ticket supports Root’s programs, helping create opportunities in hospitality while preparing meals for our community.

My face and camera may or may not have been burned in the making of this video. Behind the line is hot, folks!

But totally worth it to bring to you our Burgundy snails. If I’ve taken care of you at a table before, it’s the first thing I recommend - that garlic green butter smell is out of this world 🧄

Well…wasn’t expecting this. Bernadette was just named Best Restaurant North by Boston Magazine!

If you’ve ever worked in restaurants, you know that restaurant life isn’t all that glamorous. Most days are long, messy, and humbling. But then a guest stops you on their way out to tell you that was one of the best bites of food they’ve had in a long time. Or a server gets mentioned by name in a review because they made someone’s night. Or someone joins us for the first time and books their next reservation before they even leave. That’s the stuff that keeps you coming back every day.

And then, every once in a while, there’s a day like today. To be recognized alongside so many incredible restaurants north of Boston is something we’re really proud of.

Thank you to Boston Magazine. Thank you to every guest who’s supported us. And thank you to our team, who show up every day to make Bernadette what she is.

See you tonight ❤️

It’s Green Crab Week 🦀

Despite their name, green crabs aren’t native to New England. They were introduced in the 1800s and have become one of the region’s most invasive species, damaging salt marshes and preying on soft-shell clams, mussels, and young lobster.

One way chefs can help? Cook with them. Supporting fisheries that harvest green crabs helps reduce their impact while turning an overlooked ingredient into something delicious.

This week we’re serving Squid Ink Picci with Green Crab Bisque - housemade pasta in a rich, intensely flavored bisque that showcases just how incredible this invasive species can be.

Available all week at Bernadette!

This table has two jobs.

Most nights, it’s where Aaron and I eat family meal before service. We chat about what’s left to do before the night starts, last minute specials, menu changes chef forgot to tell me about, if we know where are kids are 😜 (kind of joking but not really).

A little later, it becomes our Chef’s Table, where our guests settle in for a front row seat to the kitchen. A way to taste the best of our menu, shaped by the season and never the same. A night completely at your own pace.

A definite favorite spot for us at the restaurant for more reasons than one.
