The coffee on our shelf always has a name behind it. This one has the name Mr. Mengeche Derso.

Mr. Mengeche owns and farms 15 hectares in the highlands of the Gedeo Zone, the heart of Yirgacheffe, a region famous for coffee that tastes like blueberries. He's 62 years old, with 62 years of farming experience, and his work has earned him recognition from government organizations for the quality of what he grows.
He farms alongside four of his twelve children, and the whole operation runs on natural fertilizers, animal manure and plant remnants, to keep the soil healthy at 2,300 meters above sea level.

This lot is made up of native Ethiopian heirloom varieties, shade-grown using organic practices typical of the region's small producers.

In the cup: dried elderflower, red grape, strawberry, and jasmine with a soft mouthfeel and sparkling acidity.

One farmer.
One family.
One incredible harvest.
