Dear Friends, Neighbors, Pizza Fans, and Fellow Soccer Lovers,

A month ago, 48 nations began the journey of trying to become world champions.

Since then, we've watched dreams realized and dreams come to an end. We've seen favorites fall, underdogs rise, unforgettable goals, impossible saves, and moments that will be remembered for generations. Now, only two matches remain.

One will decide who leaves the tournament with bronze medals and third place. The other will decide who lifts the most coveted trophy in world sport and earns the right to call themselves World Champions.

Before we get to Sunday's Final, there's one more chapter to write.

The Third Place Playoff is often overlooked, but it shouldn't be. It's an opportunity for two outstanding teams to finish their World Cup on a high, to reward the supporters who have traveled every step of the journey with them, and to leave the tournament with one final memorable performance. We'll be showing the match in full this Saturday.

An Open Letter to Everyone Who's Walked Through Our Doors
Dear Friendsโ€”
We've been thinking a lot about first impressions.
Every person who has visited Pizza Maya has had one.
Maybe yours was about the pizza. Maybe it was the momos. Maybe it was soccer on television. Maybe it was simply that someone smiled and welcomed you through the front door.
Restaurants spend an enormous amount of time worrying about those first impressions, but what we've discovered is that the second visit matters much more than the first.
When someone comes back, they're telling you something.
They're saying they felt comfortable enough to return.
That they enjoyed themselves.
That they want your place to become part of their routine.
As a new restaurant, that's the greatest compliment we could possibly receive.
Over the past few weeks, many of you have done exactly that. Some of you have watched one World Cup match with us. Others have barely missed one. We've started recognizing faces, remembering orders, learning names, and watching new friendships develop almost by accident.
That's been the most rewarding part of opening Pizza Maya.
This week brings the World Cup semifinals, and we'd love to experience them together.

Weekday Happy Hour runs from 2โ€“5 PM, making the semifinal matches the perfect excuse to settle in with a drink, grab some pizza or momos, and spend the afternoon with fellow supporters.
Whether you've already become a regular or you've been meaning to come back since your first visit, we'd love to see you again.
If you've already become a regular, thank you.
If you've been meaning to come back, we'll have a table waiting.
And if this week is your first visit, welcome.
We hope it won't be your last.
Yours in soccer, momos, pizza, and community,
Pizza Maya

Dear Friends, Neighbors, Pizza Fans, and Fellow Soccer Loversโ€”
People often ask us what it's been like to open a restaurant.
Usually they're asking about recipes, permits, construction delays, equipment, or whether we've managed to get enough sleep. Those are all fair questions, but they're not really the interesting ones.
The truth is that opening a restaurant doesn't end when you unlock the doors for the first time. That's just the day people begin deciding what your place is going to mean to them.
For some people, Pizza Maya has already become their Friday night dinner spot. For others, it's somewhere to stop after work for Happy Hour. We've watched families celebrate birthdays here, couples wander in after walks along West 7th, and neighbors introduce themselves to one another over slices they almost certainly intended to share.
None of that can be designed. It has to happen on its own.
The World Cup has accelerated all of it.
Over the past month we've seen conversations start between people who otherwise never would have met. Jerseys from half a dozen countries have ended up around the same table. Matches have finished, but people have stayed because another conversation had just begun.
If we're honest, that's the restaurant we hoped to build.
This week, the World Cup reaches the semifinals, and we'll be showing both matches at Pizza Maya.

If you're looking for somewhere to experience these matches with people who love the game as much as you do, we'd be honored to have you spend them with us.
And if soccer isn't the only reason you come, that's even better.
After all, it never really was about soccer.
See you soon!

Dear Friends, Neighbors, Pizza Fans, and Fellow Soccer Lovers โ€”

Hoping youโ€™re well and enjoying what is a truly thrilling edition of the World Cup.

Weโ€™re now at the stage of the tournament where we go up several gears. The Quarterfinals.

Eight nations are left, and each have their own claim to destiny being on their side.

By the end of this weekend, thereโ€™ll be four left.

This is where a World Cup becomes iconic, and there's no better way to experience it than in a room full of people who care just as much as you do.

Over the past few weeks we've watched Pizza Maya become exactly the place we hoped it would. Families coming together after work. Dropins for midday kickoffs and hangouts for happy hour specials. Complete strangers celebrating together because someone, somewhere, just scored an unforgettable goal.

That's what this game does.

And that's why we built Pizza Maya. For food. For the love of the game. For you.
