When people hear Michelin, they often picture white tablecloths, elaborate tasting menus, and a bill reserved for a special occasion. A Bib Gourmand recognizes really good food at a really fair price. For what we set out to create at Bar Citra, we couldn’t be happier.
We have so much respect for what goes into earning a star. When we say the Bib feels better for us, we mean it feels true to the place we’ve been trying to build. Somewhere you can come regularly, spend time, and make good food part of your everyday life.
We’ve been seeing a lot of new faces lately, so it’s probably worth introducing ourselves a little. We’re a counter-service café, on purpose. You order at the register, sit where you like. The seriousness goes into the coffee, the wine, the bread, what’s actually in your sandwich, not into the formality. We want to feed you well and make you feel welcome, with the same care and ease we’d offer an old friend.
So: come in for a cortado. Stay for lunch. Split a bottle with a friend. Bring your kids. Show up sandy from the beach. When dinner returns this fall, it’ll still be counter service, date night included. That’s more or less the whole idea. Glad you’re here!
