Come try our authentic Japanese takeout in St. Albans! We have chicken, pork cutlet, and curry. Chef Taka-san makes lunch weekdays and dinner Wednesday-Fridays.

Perfect for cold days, we have a miso soup that will warm you right up. We make maple milk tea, a Vermont take on the Japanese beverage, and boba tea in the summer. We believe in taking care of our earth, and as much as we can

We hope you are excited for the 2026 Maple Festival, right here in beautiful St Albans, this coming Thursday through Sunday. We will be open for regular dining during our usual business hours (Wed-Sat, 11-2 and 4-6). During the festival you may wan to try our Original Aurora Maple Sauce which won us the Maple Festival Diners Choice Award in 2023 -- come try a side with karaage chicken, curry, or katsudon. We also have fun sweet and savory snacks, beverages from Japan, and various desserts. Something for everyone!

Oh and we can't forget to mention the delicious Happy Turn rice crackers we got shipped from Japan at last! Guys, they are covered in what can only be called "Happy Powder" (no, really, in Japanese it's written ハッピーパウダー!!) and they are awesome but only while we have stock.

Hungering for a sweet treat? Come try our new ice cream mochi in many flavors: Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate, Coffee, Matcha, and Mango!

Don't know what mochi ice cream is? Well, here's a mini history lesson:

🧑‍🏫 Mochi Ice Cream is a fusion dessert first created in the early 1990's in Los Angeles by a Japanese-American named Frances Hashimoto, combining traditional Japanese desserts in a new and delicious way. It is made of a small, bite-sized ice cream scoop wrapped in a soft, chewy, pounded sticky rice dough (mochi). If you're adventurous, you can make it at home by wrapping frozen ice cream balls in cooked mochi dough. ... Or come to Kaiju Kitchen and get one any time!
