Good news! Cola was adopted!❤️

Update: Adopted!!! Thank you all for sharing!!

Cola doesn't want to die on Wednesday. 💔

Cola (A2520645) has been at the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center since April 23. She is 7 years old, 87 pounds, and after nearly five months in a shelter kennel, she is falling apart.

Her euthanasia deadline is Wednesday, 9/23.

This is what makes Cola’s story so heartbreaking: outside of her kennel, volunteers have seen a different dog.

She has walked calmly with a loose leash or mild pull. She seeks affection. She takes treats gently. She has leaned into people for pets, given kisses, play-bowed and gotten the zoomies.

Inside her kennel, the stress has become unbearable.

She is panting, trembling, hypersalivating, barking, biting and pushing at her bed and kennel. She has injured her own muzzle. PRC has tried medication and moving her to another kennel, but her behavior has continued to worsen.

The shelter’s own final plea says:

“Cola will continue to decline as she stays at the shelter.”

She needs out.

Cola is NOT eligible for foster or Pawdition. She needs an adopter or rescue commitment with a wellness consult by close of business Wednesday, 9/23.

If you cannot take Cola, please share her. One share could put her in front of the person who can.

🚨 FONTINO’S CRIMINAL RECORD 🚨

After 16 months in foster care, we’ve gathered enough evidence. The allegations against Fontino are serious.

His charges include:

🧸 Toy hoarding
🪟 Unauthorized neighborhood surveillance
😂 Treat-demand grunting
❤️ Stealing hearts
😴 Excessive napping

And unfortunately, he appears to be a repeat offender.

The recommended sentence?

LIFE IN A LOVING HOME. ❤️

Fontino is 7 years old, 65 pounds, and has been waiting 16 MONTHS for someone to finally give him that sentence.

Before foster care, Fontino spent five months in a shelter kennel after being picked up as a stray in Seffner. Eventually, he was given a euthanasia deadline.

Winston’s Friends - Tampa Dogs saved him on the day his time was up. ❤️

Since then, he’s shown everyone exactly who he is: goofy, affectionate, loyal, toy-obsessed and always ready for an adventure.

🐾 Crate trained & good house manners
👧 Loves kids
🐱 Good history with cats
🐶 Best with calmer, compatible dogs
🚗 Loves car rides and adventures
❤️ Professional brindle smoosh

He needs someone consistent and dependable who will give him the structure and love he thrives with.

Fontino already escaped one life sentence.

Now we’d really like to give him another one: forever with a family. ❤️

📍 Tampa Bay, Florida

Please SHARE Fontino. After 16 months, his person may simply not have seen him yet.

Interested in adopting Fontino? Reach out to Winston’s Friends - Tampa Dogs for more information. ❤️

Thank you, Brown Dan, for fostering this repeat offender!
