We have Chef Gwen Waites in Wrangler Kitchen on Thursday, January 22nd, from 10:30 am to 2 pm!
Gwen Waites is an East Texas native who has called Midland home for nearly six years. With close to 20 years of experience in food service and management, she has spent the last five years working as a chef and caterer, including the past three years as General Manager for a well-known Midland catering company.
Without formal culinary training, Gwen learned by doingâstarting young in the kitchen with her momâand turned that lifelong passion into a career built on real experience, hard work, and consistency. In July 2025, she took a leap she never expected and launched That Girl Food Truck & Catering.
Gwen is especially passionate about serving the oilfield and trucking communities, believing they are the backbone that keeps the country moving, often without the recognition they deserve. Her mission is simple: to provide wholesome, affordable food that people can count on. At the same time, she enjoys the elevated side of catering, from private in-home dinners to large-scale oilfield events.
She has been part of gatherings as small as two people and as large as 3,000âand enjoys every one for what it is.
