Dear Friends/Patrons,
We want to express our utmost gratitude for all of your support in recent times and over the years. We also want to thank you for your votes for all BEST OF Detroit Awards. Especially with this recent Metro Times win for Best Noodles — it is absolutely wonderful but also very bittersweet. (Please support Metro Times - they have been a huge help over the years).
Sometimes things don’t go the way we had hoped. Just a few factors here; we were approaching the end of our lease and met with many building fixes that are extremely costly. With no help from the landlord and a new lease looming — and no idea of the new lease amount… which is just insane. We felt trapped in a very unhealthy situation and toxic relationship with our landlord. Lawyers have been involved, so we cannot say much more.
Also, as many of you know, the restaurant business has been tougher in the last year…the economy is just not what it used to be.
So, with heavy hearts, we have decided to close permanently.
This is especially sad because we were approaching our 10 year anniversary. We truly wanted to have a celebration with you all but we cannot with what’s going on. The building is slowly breaking down and needs an overhaul. We can’t justify putting massive amounts into someone else’s building.
Thank you all again for 10 years of your patronage, loyalty and support.
We thank our partners, chefs, and waitstaff who put in their all. We love you and will miss you. Hopefully one day we can return in another space.
Thank you to all who participated in our over 300 art and music shows - mostly booked by Joell Krista. You can find her booking select art shows at 215W in Ferndale.
PS - A lot of restaurants are just plain struggling right now — this is a good time to share your favorite restaurant, go support you favorite artist or music act and like and share all their posts and write reviews… it goes a long way.
