Danny’s is a proud Michigan bar—even though Ohio State fans completely take it over every Saturday during football season! We love both sides… at least until kickoff. 😂🏈
Our owner, Brad, played basketball at Clay High School back when the hoop was still a peach basket and the ball was stuffed with feathers. 😂 There may be a slight age difference between Brad and Nigel—but the Clay-Whitmer rivalry was already alive and well!
Yet here we are, proudly carrying Nigel’s Maple Lava Hot Sauce, created by the Whitmer graduate, former Wisconsin Badger and Toledo hometown success story!
Nigel went from Whitmer to Wisconsin and then played in the NBA for the Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns. He also became an international basketball star—winning the 2025 EuroLeague Championship, earning Final Four MVP honors and setting the EuroLeague single-game scoring record with 50 points. He currently plays professionally for Panathinaikos in Greece.
We tried his Maple Lava, and we’re not just saying this: it is one of the best hot sauces we’ve ever tasted—and we’ve sold a little bit of sauce around here! It has the perfect combination of real maple sweetness and jalapeño heat.
You’ll now find it right on the tables at Danny’s, ready to add to wings, burgers, chicken, pizza, fries or just about anything else.
