The Rosemont Cafe'

The Rosemont Cafe' 2015- 2016: The Rosemont Cafe opened. Delicious good food & great customers! 5/4/16 water damage from bldg fire closed us. Re-open TBD check our FB page.

Two sisters are re-opening The Rosemont Cafe'!! Number one question asked: 'What kind of place are you opening?" And the answer - it will be similar to the good meals the Cafe at Rosemont used to feed the community and its visitors. Our commitment is to use as many local, organic, natural, seasonal, whole foods as possible with the focus on offering satisfying food and decent portions at a reaso

nable price! In the beginning The Rosemont Cafe' will be breakfast and lunch grab and go with some seating! Then the Cafe' will open for brunches and dinners later in the year. Something to look forward to!! Who are these two sisters and where do they come from? a little history... (or her-story since we are sisters!)

Our family has been farm owners in Kingwood since 1958! The farm currently produces hay for mushrooms and amazing veggies for family and friends. And we have plans for it...

Both sides of our family have been in food service over the last 100 years. We come from barkeeps, butchers and bakers in Chicago and owners of working mans restaurant on The Palisades in Cliffside Park, NJ. Stories of taking the ferry across to NY to purchase fresh fish from Fultons and meats from the butchers made great adventure dinner discussions. On top of that foundation, our Great Uncle Nick sparked an interested in cooking with all of us but for Jennifer it became her passion. She worked by his side since before she could read and write! She attended Johnson and Wales and has worked with Disney, The Marriott, and several other restaurants in Bergen County, NJ as well as managed corporate dining facilities. Jenn is the master chef! On the other hand, Stacy has had a 20+ year career in corporate America in human resources, coaching and sales she also spent at least 10 years cumulatively working as a barista, a server and food store manager. As a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, a local farm owner and a certified health coach she and Jenn will be searching for local whole delicious foods! We both like to eat and try new things constantly. Between the two of us we've traveled to France, Italy, Africa, Puerto Rico, many islands and to over 30 states in the US. Finding the culturally diverse, local and delicious food has always been a priority, like going to an art museum or music festival... we are always searching for the taste that colors our pallets and make them sing and dance with happiness (you may have to come learn the happy food dance too!). We look forward do serving you at The Rosemont Cafe' - opened in September!!!

πŸ‹πŸ‹ When life throws you lemons - do you make lemonade?πŸ‹πŸ‹

Overtime, I truly believe life's experiences refine us into the people we are today. And we either become really good at making lemonade or we turn sour! I choose to make lemonade!
And now I want to help others do the same...metaphorically. Please read to the bottom so you know what action steps to take next... but first...

Some of you might remember from our talks in the Rosemont Cafe that I spent years as the primary caregiver for my Uncle Nick who lived in Kingwood since 1958. Yes, my family has been around for a while! He made very good use of the Hunterdon County medical system and hospice took care of both of us from his home at end of life (EOL).

The caregiver journey with my uncle and my aunt prior to him, opened my eyes and my heart in unexpected ways. At first I was a reluctant caregiver asking the universe all the questions! 😭
* Why me?
* Why the chronic illness?
* What about my life and aspirations?
* What am I supposed to do with these lemons?!

Eventually the questions shifted and transformed into: πŸ€”
* How can I survive this?
* How can I help them have a quality life at their end of life
* How do I manage all the tasks - legal, medical and all the others?
* How many different ways can I make and enjoy this lemonade?

TODAY the question is ...
How do I help others Survive and Thrive their personal caregiver journey and share my recipe for, yes- you got it, lemonade!?!πŸ‹πŸ‹

I'm offering caregiver services in-person and/or on-line in our community using knowledge and experience I've accumulated along my personal journey.
πŸ‘‰ my life integrative coaching,
πŸ‘‰ EOL doula training and
πŸ‘‰ human resources, training and operations management skills

I invite you to come check things out for yourself or share this information with someone you know who is a caregiver and could use the hand. Feel free to PM/DM/IM me with questions as well.

2020!! What a year!!
And we thought having to close down due to a fire was bad! (well it was, seriously COVID-19, REALLY?!?)...

There are over 840 of you who followed us on Facebook! We are hoping that you and yours are well, safe and faithfully looking forward good things in 2021.

Tell us how you are doing with at least a hashtag in the comments! For instance...

We know there have been 2020 challenges (to say the least) and this year continues to test our resilience. Resetting our perspective to optimism can be a moment-to-moment battle! We hope you are winning at it!

Brief update about us:
* Jenn is working, is healthy and prospering!
* Our nieces are being home schooled, getting taller and more curious about life every day!
* Their mom is busy working from home, helping out with school and like many of us, trying to maintain household sanity.
* Our mom had COVID and gratefully recovered!

And so that leaves me! The other local sister who managed the front end of the cafe, Stacy. Since the cafe fire, I went back to corporate, what I knew and was safe. Hadn't planned on staying so long. And then 2020 happened and after some deep soul searching I have come to the same conclusion many of you have-

LIFE IS TOO SHORT!

So NOW I'm up to something special!
PUT a in the comments!!
As I have more details, I will share!!!

In the meantime... stay warm, safe and sane!
