A Quick Update from SLURP

Last week we shared that we planned to be open today, and we truly meant it. Unfortunately, we’ve had a series of unexpected setbacks that have delayed things again, and we want to be transparent with our customers about what’s been going on.

As many of you know, we’ve been dealing with equipment issues since December when a fan on our circuit board went out. We waited several weeks for that part to arrive, and once it finally came in we were up and running again.

Shortly after that, the vehicle we used to tow the trailer began having mechanical issues. After weighing the costs of repair, we decided the best option was to trade it in for a new car. While that solved one problem, the new car doesn’t have a tow package, which meant we would need to rely on our truck to pull the trailer.

The truck had been sitting because it needed new tires — an expensive but necessary fix if we were going to put it back into service. So we ordered a full set of tires and scheduled an appointment in Eugene for Saturday.

And wouldn’t you know it… before we could even make it there, we blew a tire.

We were able to get a spare on and still made it up to Eugene for the appointment, only to find out that FedEx had delivered three of the four tires — and the fourth had never left the store. So now our truck is still sitting at Discount Tire in Eugene while we wait for the final tire to arrive.

When it rains, it definitely pours.

We truly hate when unforeseen issues mean we can’t show up for our customers the way we want to. Being closed means we’re unavailable to you, and that’s never something we take lightly.

The good news is that we’re hopeful this string of setbacks is finally behind us, especially with event season right around the corner.

Your support means everything to us. We couldn’t keep SLURP going without this amazing community, and we are incredibly grateful for your patience while we work through these bumps in the road.

We’re looking forward to being back very soon.
