There’s a funny thing about opening a little hometown café.
You spend months hoping people will walk through the door… and before you know it, those people become your people.
You think you’re building a menu. Renovating a building. Serving coffee and breakfast.
But somewhere along the way, you realize you’re building something else.
You don’t just build a café. You build a little family.
These four have been such a big part of Redbird’s story. They’ve survived breakfast rushes, tackled mountains of dishes, laughed until we cried, and loved this little café and our community so well.
That’s always been part of what I hoped Redbird could be. Not just a place to grab breakfast or coffee, but a place where people could belong for a little while, learn something new, find confidence, and leave a little more sure of themselves than when they came in.
Now it’s time for these baby birds to spread their wings and head toward whatever comes next. We couldn’t be prouder, even if our hearts are a little heavy.
Thank you, Jaime, Ariel, Alexis, and Taylor for leaving pieces of yourselves here. You’ve helped shape this little café into what it is, and your fingerprints will always be part of Redbird.
We’ll miss your laughter behind the counter, the music in the kitchen, the inside jokes, and the familiar sight of your cars pulling into the parking lot.
Once a Redbird, always a Redbird.
The nest might feel a little quieter for a while… but we’ll always be cheering you on from home. 🫶
