✨ Since 1996, OUT Maine has been working to create more welcoming communities and affirming for Maine’s diverse q***r youth in all of their intersectional identities. In partnership with their allies and families, OUT Maine supports, educates, and empowers these youth in their journey from adolescence to adulthood. 💪 They build resilience and life skills to help our q***r youth overcome daunting statistics and unsupportive homes, schools and communities, focusing especially in our more rural and under-resourced areas. They teach personal development and leadership skills; provide connection and support through peers and adult mentors; and lay the foundation for q***r youth to become advocates for themselves and help build more inclusive, supportive communities throughout our state. 👏
🏳️⚧️ LGBTQ+ teens face higher risks of depression, isolation, and su***de, and are far too often unsupported by their communities and even families. We fiercely believe in OUT Maine's mission and are so honored to work with them! 🏳️🌈
