Today felt like one of those days that reminds us exactly why we do this.

To every guest who joined us for lunch today — thank you. To the new faces who walked through our doors for the first time, welcome. And to the familiar faces we haven’t seen in a little while, seeing you again meant more than you probably know.

There was a beautiful energy in the room today. Full tables, kind words, introductions, laughter, and that very special kind of community that can only happen when people choose to gather around good food.

I found myself moving between the kitchen, the dish station, the dining room, and the tables — running food, washing dishes, checking in, and personally thanking as many guests as I could. And honestly? It felt good. It felt joyful. It felt like coming back to the heart of what Ansonia Soup Company has always been about: feeding people well and making them feel genuinely welcome.

And I want to thank today’s Soup Gang — Jana, Mandy, and Ja’cquis — for standing beside me, staying steady, and helping us do what we do best: genuine service and handcrafted-to-order food.

We are grateful. We are tired in the best possible way. And we are more excited than ever for what is ahead.
