It was a very emotional week at the Trainwreck celebrating 44 years in business. Kris and I were
Very touched and amazed at the number of people that came to see all of us. We thank you for your support , your stories and your love. You touched our hearts and will never be forgotten. We all have entered new chapters in life. Thank you again. We loved being a part of your lives.

These last weeks have been emotional, challenging and an eye opening experience. We have always known Trainwreck has touched many lives, but the lasting lasting impressions of many customers and great employees has overwhelmed us. So many people associate Trainwreck with a single event, a special person, or a moment in their life that has lasted forever in their hearts. We are eternally grateful to be apart of those cherished memories. Pleas join George , Kris and loyal employees this weekend for our final days together at the Trainwreck we love!

As the saying goes…..all good things come to an end. At least for a while. Since 1982 George and Kris Hansford have been the owner/operators of the Trainwreck Saloon in Rock Hill, MO. The Trainwreck brand also included two other locations. Trainwreck Westport, 35 years and Trainwreck on the Landing, 10 years.
Prior to George and Kris’ purchase, the Trainwreck had another long run as Porta’s Tavern. Porta’s was operated by three generations of Portas. To date there have been only three owners of the bar at 9243 Manchester Road since opening in 1890. That’s about to change! New ownership is on the horizon.
This is an end of an era for us. We have preserved through floods, a fire next door, COVID and major roar repairs to Manchester Road. Trainwreck has completed it own life cycle, infancy, childhood, adolescence , young adulthood, and old age. We have celebrated all life’s miracles and milestones with our employees and customers as well as mourning the loss of many dear friends, employees and customers.
This has been an unbelievable difficult decision and process for us. We have second guessed ourselves on every decision.
While we should be happy to ride off into retirement, we are incredibly sad. We are counting on the new owners to continue the Trainwreck spirit and traditions. They have exciting plans and are looking forward to many more years of operating the Trainwreck in Rock Hill.
Our last day will be Sunday 8/30/26. The Trainwreck will be closed for remolding on 8/31/26.
It has been a pleasure serving you all these years. You are our friends. You are our family. We hope you feel the same. Without your patronage and support there would not have been a Trainwreck. Our successes are because of our employees and each and every one of you. Please know how much you are loved and appreciated. You changed all of our lives. We all thank you!
I can’t say we did everything right, but we have sure done more right than wrong!
We love you all!
George and Kris Hansford
