Martins Amish Furniture has quality furniture from indoor dining and living room sets to outdoor furniture and swing sets. You get what you pay for. Quality mostly Amish made furniture. Joel is working as warehouse manager and Emily just started working as customer service not sure what all. 😅 it’s a strange but good feeling to be on the employee side of it and carry less responsibilities for a change. 😀 lots to learn. Furniture isn’t quite like donuts you know. But thankfully, Joel made furniture before we opened Golden harvest and Emily grew up in a logging, house construction , furniture building environment. REAL food is still our passion. But this is our season of life now. Come see us at Martin’s Amish Furniture.

Some of you may remember that we partnered with Martin’s Amish furniture in January 2026 just before we closed Golden Harvest Bakery in May 2026. They offered us a kitchen to make our donuts because the main heating units went down in the building we were leasing in Rochester, so our yeast doughs weren’t rising. So when we decided to close Golden Harvest, they offered both Joel and Emily a job so we could continue to provide for our family. It’s a new season of life for our family. Food is still a passion for us. But this is our season of rest. Rest doesn’t necessarily mean not working. But we have a lot more family time now since we work less hours a day. We still believe Golden Harvest will reopen soon, maybe not by our family but by other passionate committed people 🙏🏼

Emily’s parents gave their family the greatest gift they could ever have given. A weekend at the beach to connect and make lasting memories.

Emily’s parents went through really tight financial times. They worked hard and taught their children to enjoy working. Many things we think of as common today would have been luxury for them. As the years went by and God blessed them with easier times financially, they did exactly what they have always done. They shared those blessings with their family and gave us all a weekend vacation. They taught us to never quit no matter how hard life gets. So special!

Deeper in love than 60 years ago! Celebrating 60 years of marriage. We are so blessed to still have them with us. Each moment is a precious gift!

Many of you know Emily’s mom’s health journey has been rough. Look at her standing there. God is so good! She was the healthiest we have seen her in many years!

I wish you could have heard them sing 😍 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She’s one of our heros (Emily’s mom). Her humor at 79 cheers us all up. She milked cows, drove tractor, baked countless cookies, breads, rolls and everything you can imagine including donuts. She made the best perogies and the best most tender steak. She lives intentionally and she passed that on to her family 🥰 she never wastes food. She taught her children to make the best of every situation.

Those donuts were so yummy 🤤 I’m sorry you weren’t there to try them!

Let’s talk about the food in Belize for a minute. We were amazed again at how many options there are and all of the food is hand made from scratch using real ingredients. That chicken sandwich from Chicken Express makes any fast food sandwich we know in USA look pathetic. It had the equivalent of 3 fast food chicken sandwiches in one on that sandwich!

There’s nothing quite like waking up in the jungle, hearing monkeys hollering right outside our bedroom window and then watching them in their natural habitat. Stay tuned for updates as we process and share our next venture. To all of our faithful and loyal friends, our family is doing well. We miss you!

If you know someone who is looking for a job, our friends are hiring! One of the owners from Ridge Donuts stopped in before we closed. It was such a breath of fresh air to chat with someone who has a passion to serve the community with homemade food, works before the sun rises and after the sun sets, and who knows what it’s like to constantly look for help. Please help them serve the community if you can! We need family owned businesses in Rochester. It takes the whole community to keep them around!

Open interviews tomorrow from 2pm-3:30pm for front end help.
Must be able to work any hours between 6am-4:30pm.
Looking for someone to start asap.
We will accept summer help but we are looking for someone more permanent as well.
