Dear Lettuce Rochester Community,

We wanted to share an important update regarding our summer hours.

Due to the significant impact that the recent concerns surrounding the Cyclospora outbreak have had on customer traffic throughout our area, Ken and I have made the difficult decision to close on Saturdays for the remainder of the summer.

Saturdays have always been our slowest business day, and with the recent decline in sales, remaining open on those days is unfortunately no longer sustainable. As a small, family-owned restaurant, sometimes we have to make difficult decisions to ensure we're here for the long run. This isn't a decision we wanted to make, but we believe it's the right one while we wait for business to return to normal.

We want to sincerely thank every single person who has continued to support us. Whether you've stopped in for lunch, shared one of our posts, recommended us to a friend, or simply kept us in your thoughts, it truly means the world to us. This community has always been the heart of Lettuce, and we're incredibly grateful for your continued support.

We will continue to operate during our regular business hours Monday through Friday, and we look forward to serving you throughout the rest of the summer.

Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and for supporting local. We look forward to reopening on Saturdays as soon as business returns to normal.

An Update from lettuce 💚

As many of you have seen, it appears that the source of the recent Cyclospora outbreak has been identified. We want to take this opportunity to reassure our customers that lettuce has never used and will never use pre-shredded lettuce or pre-packaged salad kits.

From the day we opened our doors in 2017, we’ve built our business around one simple philosophy: fresh is better. Every head of lettuce is hand chopped, thoroughly washed, and prepared fresh in house. It’s one of the things that has always set us apart from fast food, and it’s a standard we refuse to compromise.

When we founded lettuce nearly 9 years ago, we never imagined that our biggest strength, fresh produce would one day become something that could negatively impact our business through circumstances completely beyond our control. While this has certainly been a challenging time, our commitment has never changed.

Safety, quality, and freshness have always been and will always be our top priorities. We continue to follow strict food safety practices every single day, not just during times like these.

To everyone who has continued to support us over the past nine years, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your trust, encouragement, and loyalty mean more than you’ll ever know. We hope this situation passes quickly, and we look forward to continuing to serve our community for many years to come.

Over the past few weeks, we've received questions about where our lettuce comes from, and we want to share exactly what goes into every salad we serve.

🥬 Spring Mix, Spinach & Arugula – Classic Salads

We proudly source our greens from trusted growers with decades of experience producing high-quality, fresh produce.

Every morning, we hand chop all of our lettuce in-house. We never use pre-cut or prepared lettuce mixes because we believe freshness makes a difference.

Many of you may not know this, but for the last several years, Ken and I have personally shopped for the produce that comes into our restaurant. We take great pride in selecting the same quality ingredients that we serve to our own families. We never cut corners when it comes to the food we prepare for you.

Your trust means everything to us, and we don't take it for granted. Thank you for continuing to support Lettuce Rochester and for allowing us to be a part of your meals. We are truly grateful. 💚🙏
