Dearest Friends and Family,

Four days shy of a month of my being beside my loving sister's bedside, Angie passed away. Being the officiant of her beautiful funeral was extremely challenging and difficult but it was a duty and responsibility that I could not turn away from. It was a blessing to see friends and family from several states that took the time to travel and pay their respects to my sister, Angie. Being the officiant of her beautiful funeral was extremely challenging and difficult but it was a duty and responsibility that I could not turn away from. It was a blessing to see friends and family from several states that took the time to travel and pay their respects to my sister, Angie, (see picture of Angie with two of her three grandchildren five months prior to her passing). Moreover, as I often called her by her loving nickname, ,
mi Kellita, meaning my Kellita.

Imagine watching and hearing your sister moan, grimacing and shaking in pain as Alzheimer's was slowly and cruelly taking her life. All the time knowing that you are inflicted with a meaner form of dementia. It seemed like regardless of how how much morphine they gave her, it was was not enough. It was during these times that all of your prayers and thoughts that you sent me, are what helped me make it through those "seventeen days and nights.”

In conclusion, there aren't enough words for me to thank Ripley's McDonald's:

As God is my witness, I began my job as Ripley's McDonald's Lobbyist because Chell shared with me that they needed someone to work the lobby in order to open up their dine-in. "Clock me in." I told her.

Little did I know that God had a different plan for this Ripley's McDonald's Team to play
in the final chapter of my life. For that, I am forever grateful.

Dearest Friends and Family,
LBD is answering questions I never thought I'd be asking. For background info, please go to my 12/18/20 posting.
Until LBD kills me, my focus will remain on enjoying as many minutes of the 1,440 minutes in a day!
What Lewy's Bodies Dementia (LBD) is teaching me!
LBD is extremely painful. The pain often freezes me in a set position. It lasts anywhere from five minutes to an hour or more. That's until the pain subsides enough for me to move.

LBD causes extreme forgetfulness. It is a horrible feeling when my mind goes totally blank. I will see photos with me in them, but, I have no recollection of ever being there. Almost always, I keep it to myself. As I continue faking my responses when I can and apoligizing when I can't.

LBD alters your walk and stance. The Mayo Clinic's doctors told us that people with LBD shuffle their feet. Now I am noticing that I am standing with my legs bent. Oftentimes, this leads me to shuffle my first step or two. Sometimes causing me to fall. Thus,
whenever I am standing,
I work diligently on keeping my legs straight. Also, at home, I am wearing shorts more often. This permits my wife to check that my legs are straight! If I'm not standing straight, she gets me to straighten my legs!

Why are so many of my friends no longer texting, calling, or emailing me?

The adage, "People are afraid of what they don't know..." is wrong. My life has taught me that
"People are afraid of what they THINK they know!"
So to give them a better idea of how I am doing... I now texts, call, or email them.
I may not be able to stop or delay the inevitable. But, I do have the power within me to enjoy the most minutes of my day! Just thinking of my Grandbabies brings me joy!

Dearest Friends & Family,
Since I first shared with you that my community needs employees. I knew that I was going to become one! Then, upon knowing when and where I was going to begin work... I downloaded a countdown app. Then, I set it to go off at
9:00 am, June 28th!
Why...you ask?
Because once Chell let me when I will begin working, I visually and spiritually felt it. At that moment, I will begin helping my community by working at Ripley's McDonald's. I'll clock-in and officially begin helping my community combat its employee shortage!

Now, I invite you to stop in and enjoy a drink, a meal, and say hello. Also, please know that my job is #1.
However, if time permits a quick hello or a quick pic would be nice.
Now, I must get mentally and physically ready for tomorrow. After all, 621 minutes and 57 seconds comes quick.

It's official! Orientation went well. The presenter did an excellent job of explaining the process and keeping everyone's attention. It was obvious that everyone was glad to be there and looking forward to begin working. Everyone's required documents were completed and approved to begin work.
Finally, the uniform check. Clear this and you're on the schedule!Everyone' s uniform was checked for...Black non-slip shoes and Black slacks. Sadly, a young man doesn't have Black slacks. He is waiting until his IRS tax refund arrives in mid-July.
Thus, my request, does anyone have a pair of size 40" waist Black slacks. He does not know the length needed. But, he is about six-foot tall. If you could help me help him out, please call or text me at 937-618-2480.

Just imagine, at six-years of age I was picking tomatoes in Ohio!
Years later, I attended the Ohio State Fair and watched Daddy's Baby-girl marching and waving at all the cheering fans. From the tomato fields to the Ohio State Fair! My daughter is the one dressed as Gumby!
I still get goosebumps just thinking about it!

Dearest Friends and Family,
This is one video from my 12 day trip to be with my eldest sister, Angie, who used to change my diaper!
Angie weighed 2lbs 4ozs at birth. Sadly, this was the beginning of life with slow mental progress. She worked extremely hard at learning the alphabet, how to write, how to do arithmetic (as she calls it), happily married, mother, a grandmother, paid off their twenty-year home mortgage in eight years, and more. Only to have Alzheimer’s take it all away.
It was a great trip filled with memorable moments and a few tearful ones.

Sylvia, my sister, is Angie's health overseer. She keeps us posted on her health. Well, Sylvia's call of fear that Angie wasn't talking but only sleeping and crying. Angie's doctors informed us that we needed to decide on a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order. Hence, I flew down ASAPPDQUPI!
The first day we saw no difference. The second day, I was alone with her, and began telling her some of our growing up stories. All in Spanish, as if she was awake. "Mi querida niña, Kellita, my Dad's Mother's nickname, ¿Recuerdas cuando estábamos viendo la película El día que la tierra se detuvo? ¡Quemé las palomitas de maíz que estaba haciendo para nosotros. Pero insistí en que no se quemaron. Así que me las comí. Luego, vomité toda la noche!"
English translation,
"My loving Baby-girl,
Do you remember when we were watching the movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still." I burned the popcorn that I was making for us. But, I insisted that it wasn't burnt. So I ate it. Then, I vomited all night!"
In a couple of hours, she's laughing. Then, she's reminiscing stories about our upbringing. The rest of our time was filled with laughter, tears of joy, and hugs!"
