This will be our final post. As you may have heard, on December 28, 2025, our family business closed its doors for the final time. Three generations of the Wilkes family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Village of Ridgewood and to our loyal customers from the surrounding communities.

It has truly been an honor and a pleasure to serve you and to get to know so many of you over the years. Below is a video of our sign being taken down after 65 years, along with a photo of my father, Charlie, my brother Barry, and myself.

We poured our hearts and souls into Wilkes Deli on E. Glen Avenue in Ridgewood. Thank you for allowing the Wilkes family to serve you and to be a part of your lives. We are forever grateful. ~ Curt Wilkes

Thank you all, for the outpouring of love and support. Curt has clearly made an impact on this community! I am so proud to call him my husband, and I am looking forward to enjoying his cooking in his retirement! 😊

He also had a great team! Thank you to all who have worked in our store! We have been very fortunate to have worked with all of you!

We could not have done this without Maria in particular! Some of you have voiced concerns for her future. She will stay with Gino for a few months just to help with the change in ownership. Once done, she will be basking in the sun's warmth in Costa Rica while spending quality time with her beloved Mom! We wish her all the best in her future there!

Lastly no... sadly we will not be sharing the Potato Salad Recipe. It will always be a family secret. We have taught Gino many of the other recipes, so be sure to come in and try them out! He will be a great addition to the neighborhood!
