📖 STORYTIME WITH SANTA | December 18th & 20th
NEW THIS YEAR! We’re hosting TWO special storytime events with Santa! 🎅🏼

Little ones will get to:

She’s sweet, she’s spicy, she’s a little sophisticated. And she’s absolutely delicious. 😏

Meet this week’s pastry case obsession: a soft brown sugar shortbread base layered with bold, housemade ginger-pear compote, fresh sliced pears, and a buttery chai-spiced crumb topping.

Think warm fall spices, juicy pears, a little ginger kick, and plenty of buttery, crumbly goodness. Basically, autumn showing off. 🍂

Brown sugar + pecans = one of those combinations that simply does not miss. 🤎

Our Pastry of the Week: Brown Sugar Pecan Scones are made completely from scratch, packed with buttery brown sugar goodness and plenty of crunchy pecans, then finished with that sweet drizzle on top.

They’re rich, buttery, a little nutty, and always a crowd pleaser. Basically, the kind of scone that makes you reconsider your stance on sharing.

Our Cake of the Month is a soft, warmly spiced pumpkin cake layered with brown sugar cream cheese buttercream. 🍂 The brown sugar gives the frosting a deeper, almost caramel-like sweetness that pairs ridiculously well with the rich pumpkin cake.

It’s spiced. It’s decadent. It’s basically October in cake form. 🧡

THE CUTE FALL FLIGHT HAS A VERY UNHINGED SISTER. 👻🔪☕️

Meet GHOULISH DELIGHTS, our second October coffee flight — four spooky little creations that understood the assignment:

🪦 Graveyard Smash Latte — cherry mocha topped with whipped cream, Oreo “dirt” & a gummy worm crawling out of the wreckage.

🔪 Bloody Velvet Latte — red velvet latte topped with cream cheese icing cold foam, red sugar crystals & a tiny fake knife. Dramatic? Absolutely. Necessary? Also yes.

🎃 Ghostly Gourd Latte — pumpkin spice + toasted marshmallow, topped with pumpkin sauce & black sugar. Your PSL went through a goth phase.

👻 Cookies ’n Scream Affogato — cookies & cream ice cream drowned in espresso and topped with a ghost Peep. RIP little buddy.

SNUGGLE SEASON HAS ENTERED THE CHAT. 🎃☕️🍎

We’re back, the new floors are looking very cute, and one of our TWO brand-new October coffee flights is ready for her debut.

Meet SNUGGLE SEASON — four fall drinks for people who believe October should taste like pumpkin, apple, maple, chai, and questionable amounts of whipped cream:

🎃 Boochata Latte — our housemade horchatta + espresso, pumpkin spice, pumpkin sauce & cinnamon, topped with a pumpkin spice pretzel.

🍎 Apple Crisp Latte — caramel apple butter + spiced brown sugar + espresso, finished with a dried apple slice.

🍫 Harvest Spice Mocha — rich chocolate mocha + cinnamon. Simple. Spiced. Ridiculously good.

🪵 Lumberjack Chai Latte — dirty chai + maple syrup, topped with a housemade chai cookie because apparently a drink can also come with a snack.

And because October in Virginia has absolutely no idea what temperature it wants to be, the whole flight is available HOT or ICED. 😂

A little refresh is happening at Coco + Hazel! ✨

We’ll be CLOSED tomorrow, Tuesday 9/29, and Wednesday 9/30 while we give the café some much-needed love — brand-new floors are going in, and we’re doing a serious deep clean of our kitchen and dining areas from top to bottom. 🧹✨

We’ll be BACK IN ACTION Thursday, October 1st at 7:30 AM with a fresh new look AND all the good stuff October brings. 🍂☕️

Grab your favorite people and get ready to paint, sip, snack, and get a little spooky. Boos & Booze: Pumpkin Painting returns Saturday, October 17 from 12–2 PM!

For $29, you’ll get your own locally grown pumpkin and everything you need to paint your heart out. 🖌️🎃 Bring your friends, your family, your date—or just bring yourself and your best pumpkin-painting ideas.

And because it wouldn’t be Boos & Booze without the good stuff, you can pre-purchase some discounted ghoulish treats and drinks to enjoy while you paint—boozy or non-boozy, so everyone can join the fun. 👻🍹☕️

No artistic talent required. In fact, questionable artistic talent is highly encouraged. 😂
