Twenty-five years later, there are still no words that fully capture the loss of that morning.
Today, we remember the 2,977 lives that were taken.
We remember the passengers and flight crews aboard American Airlines Flight 11, United Airlines Flight 175, American Airlines Flight 77, and United Airlines Flight 93.
We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and first responders who entered the towers and the Pentagon, knowing only that someone needed their help.
We remember the families who waited for loved ones who never came home.
We remember the courage of those aboard Flight 93 who chose to fight back.
And we remember the countless lives forever changed by that day.
May we never become so accustomed to the passage of time that we forget the people behind the numbers.
