My sweetest baby boy. You would’ve been 15 years old today. The little brother of Megan and big brother to Rowan and August. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you, as you were the best of me. I bought this picture for my son’s room three years ago when I was in Hanoi. I can’t help but feel sad every time I look at it. It’s reminds me of three things I love and miss. A dear and an incomparable friend , a storyteller of the highest order (and a friend to the world), and a place of unspeakable beauty . Only one will I ever see again. Brian and Anthony tragically took their own lives. Stay in touch with the ones you love and reach out for help when you need it

I was lucky to see John Prine live several times through the years, and to share his deeply humanistic music with so many, many who were just a decade (or so) too young to have caught him in his prime.
