Belated Tip Tuesday ⛳️💨

As the fall winds pick up, knowing how to control your ball flight can make a big difference on the course.

This week, Stuart Smith, Director of Instruction, shows you how to keep the ball low and under the wind — without making the common mistake of simply swinging harder.

A few small adjustments can help:
🏌️ Choke down on the club
🏌️ Move the ball slightly back in your stance
🏌️ Keep your hands forward
🏌️ Take some speed off the swing

The goal? Less trajectory, more control.

What’s your go-to strategy when the wind picks up at Somersett?

✈️ A Fun Surprise at Somersett! 🏈

We loved having the Air Force Cheer Team join us for dinner last week before the Air Force vs. UNR game!

The team enjoyed a great meal together while taking in the beautiful evening views from the Club. It was such a fun surprise to have them with us and a pleasure to share a little Somersett hospitality during their visit to Reno.

Thank you to the Air Force Cheer Team for spending part of your evening with us. We hope you enjoyed your time at Somersett as much as we enjoyed having you! ✈️💙

Your arms and chest should work as a team. 🏌️‍♂️

This week, Stuart shares a simple drill to help keep your swing connected. Start with short swings, focus on solid contact, and feel your chest and arms moving together. Once you’ve established that connection, gradually make the swing bigger and add wrist hinge for speed.

Better connection. Better contact. Better accuracy. ⛳
