Some of you may have seen recent social media posts, or heard rumors about the situation concerning happy hours at your favorite local breweries, so I wanted to take a moment to explain what is happening here at Black Cap Brewing.

The PLCB has been conducting on site brewery inspections in the York area recently, and one of the main issues has been happy hours and daily drink specials. According to the PLCB’s latest interpretation of the Pennsylvania liquor code, all “G License” (brewery manufacturing) license holders, are ineligible to offer happy hour, or daily drink special promotions.

Unfortunately, while we may not agree with this interpretation of the law, we have no other option than to comply with these regulations at this time. None of us at Black Cap are happy about this situation, especially since it puts us at a distinct disadvantage when trying to compete with other licensed food and beverage providers in the area.

All of us at Black Cap work hard every day, to provide the highest quality beer, food, cocktails, and hospitality that we possibly can, and we hope that all of you will understand this situation, and continue to support us, and patronize us, throughout these challenging economic conditions.

We took our super tasty Small Town Haze, and conditioned it on a blend of tropical fruits and berries, along with generous quantities of Citra and Mosaic hops! It’s like having a tropical island in a glass!🏝️😋🏝️
