Sun and Shield Coffee Co.

Sun & Shield Coffee Co. got its name through prayer and Psalm 84:11: “For the Lord God is a sun and shield…” God is our light and our covering. Stay tuned. 🙏💚🌞🛡

We’re building this with faith, gratitude, and purpose.

Waddup fellas! ☕📖

This Monday we’re kicking off our Men’s Bible Study at Sun and Shield Coffee Co.!

Week One is going to look a little different. Before we start walking through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, we’re going to spend some time getting to know each other, sharing our testimonies, and talking about what this journey through Scripture is going to look like.

No pressure. No need to be a Bible scholar. Just a group of guys coming together, being real, opening God’s Word, and growing together.

Then beginning Week Two, WE DIG IN! 🔥📖

Come as you are. Bring your Bible if you have one, and bring your story.

All guys are welcome! 🙌

Still thinking about our very first Worship Night at Sun and Shield Coffee Co. 🙏💚

What an AMAZING night!

To see this space filled with people worshiping, praying, connecting, and lifting up the name of Jesus was something special.

Before we ever serve our first cup of coffee, we wanted this place to be set apart for God. A place where people can come as they are, find community, experience hope, and most importantly, encounter Jesus.

Saturday night was just a glimpse of what we believe God is going to do here.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made our first Worship Night so special. These pictures captured some incredible moments, but they still don’t fully capture what it felt like to be in that room.

And this is only the beginning. 🙏

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for Worship Night: Work in Progress edition ! This first informal gathering at the coffee shop was a beautiful time of praise and prayer. If you were there and have photos or videos to share, please email them to “[email protected].” You can also email here with prayer requests—and suggestions or other feedback is also welcome. Josh and Tom are so grateful for the support and love shown last night and always. God bless you!

It’s a work in progress! Today the painting and preparation continued.

Our coffee shop is NOT OPEN yet — but on Saturday, September 19 at 7PM, we’re opening the doors for something that matters deeply to us: worship.

Before the first cup is served and before the shop officially opens, we want this space filled with prayer, community, and the presence of God. 🙏

We believe God can use a coffee shop right in the heart of Reading to bring people together, encourage those who need hope, and ultimately point people to Jesus.

That’s the heart behind Sun and Shield. ☀️🛡️☕️

So come as you are. Bring a friend. Bring your family. And come worship with us.

🙌 WE’RE SAVING YOU A SPOT!

Something special is happening at Sun and Shield Coffee Co. before we even officially open our doors. ❤️

THINGS ARE MOVING! 🙌☕️

It may have seemed a little quiet lately, but trust us… there has been A LOT happening behind the scenes at Sun and Shield Coffee Co.

Plans are coming together, equipment is being lined up, and we’re getting closer and closer to seeing this vision become a reality.

Right now, we’re at one of those exciting but patience-testing stages…

We’re waiting on permits so we can officially begin our build out! 🔨

From the very beginning, we’ve believed that Sun and Shield is about so much more than opening a coffee shop. Our prayer is that this becomes a house of light in the heart of Reading. A place where people can gather, feel welcomed, find community, and experience hope.

We’re trusting God with the timing and taking each step as He opens the door.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us, encouraged us, supported us, and believed in what God is doing.

We’re getting closer. 🙏
