People ask us all the time. What makes your refried beans so good?
Don't get me wrong, how you season and cook something is a part of the equation, but the biggest reason, we actually use beans and cook it from scratch.
Most places use insta can, powdered refried beans.

So, that's it, that's the secret... Just use real ingredients!

I wasn't sure If I was going to post this on here, but there are a lot of people that Tony connected with through his time as a Barber, and as the owner of Carlitos. I think all of you deserve to know.

I am saddened, and sorry to say that Charles Anthony "Tony" Lalumia Passed away on October 9th, 2025. He is one of the best people I ever knew, he gave me my first job, and he genuinely cared about his family, friends, employees, and customers like they were a part of his family.
I am proud, and thankful that I got the opportunity to know him, learn from him, and laugh with him. He is someone who will always leave a mark on how I live my life.
He looked forward to one day reuniting with the love of his life Sandy Lalumia, who he was married to for a beautiful 56 years, and God decided it was time for their reunion.
He will be missed, he loved you all, and I thank all of you for the opportunities you have given us to continue his legacy. I look forward to hearing your best stories about Tony "Carlitos" Lalumia, and his wife Sandy. To serving you, and your families the recipes he passed on for as long as you will allow.

I love you Tony, and I love all of you. I hope you have the best rest of the year, and remember to call, and hug those you love, life is short.
