This month’s “Roaster’s Choice” is Honduran “Cerro Azul” (Blue Hill) from COHORSIL co-op in the Siguatepeque region of Honduras and our friends Royal New York | Specialty Green Coffee & Tea Importer
Grown at 1,350 MASL, this is a regional blend of washed Caturra, Catui, Bourbon and Pacas varieties from small holder farms. This coffee has a prominent dark chocolate character with subtle sweetness and a soft, clean finish. Dial your daily coffee time up a notch with this amazing blend!

For August’s “Roaster’s Choice” we are happy to announce the return of Sumatra to the rotation! Heavy storms and flooding damaged infrastructure and delayed processing and transport of these beans and they were simply unavailable for a few months. Just a reminder that the coffee we love is an agricultural product with a long supply chain that can be affected by many different factors.
Our Sumatra Gayo is from Kuala Bengi Coffee processors. They work with 180 small family farms to take their harvests of Tim-tim and Borbor varieties from cherry to export. A classic wet-hulled process coffee typical of the region, this approach yields a cup with heavy body, low acidity and dark chocolate notes with a nice round, sweet finish. It is an absolute customer favorite.
Thank you to JA Coffee for getting us some of the very first Sumatra available from this year’s harvest!
