Guys, I’m so sorry. The bots are at it again, spamming and scamming small business pages like Frosty’s.
Just to be very clear: I will NEVER, EVER, EVER tag you in the comments of an old post and ask you to buy a T-shirt. The shirts, mugs, and other Frosty “merch” they’re linking to are fake.
I am quite possibly the world’s worst salesperson. If I ever actually have something to sell, my preferred marketing strategy would be to quietly put it somewhere, tell almost no one about it, and just kinda trust that awareness will somehow spread through osmosis. Aggressively pursuing customers would require an entirely different personality than the one I was issued🫠 So if frosty is tagging you in an old facebook post trying to sell you a shirt, I promise you it is NOT me/Frosty SO PLEASE, PLEASE DON’T CLICK THE LINKS OR GIVE THEM ANY PAYMENT INFORMATION 😢
I’m deleting and reporting the comments as fast as I can, but Facebook doesn’t seem particularly interested in helping.
If you’re like “Ali, why are you bothering to write so many words about this? Just ignore it”… Noted, and in the past I would have, because my favorite thing to do about almost anything is nothing 😂, but the scams are getting slightly more sophisticated and I know of at least one Frosty enthusiast that did order a fake shirt and mug during the bot’s previous campaign last week. He genuinely thought it was us tagging him so ordered to support Frosty, which is so, SO sweet, but unfortunately it wasn’t us and the bots got his credit card information and I’m sure will never send him any of what he ordered. He said the link to the merch they’re selling shows photos of mugs and tees with an image of the Frosty sign slapped on them. So that’s another clue it’s not us. Frosty merch is always thoughtfully hand created by myself or real graphic designers, NEVER ai generated Frosty sign slop.
Sorry to anyone getting tagged or spammed. Anyway, I’ll be over here playing whack-a-mole with fake T-shirt comments lol 🙄
