Today is a day to reflect on heritage—and for our family, being both part Indigenous and Italian means two things above all else: resilience and caring for community through food.
Seeing the impact of the recent tornado in our area hit close to home (quite literally). In times like these, honoring our roots isn’t just about history—it’s about action. It’s about coming together, looking out for one another, and making sure no neighbor goes without a warm meal or help.
We’re so grateful to be able to share food and support our community through this recovery. To everyone helping rebuild and lifting up our neighbors: thank you. A very special thank you to Hope Lutheran & TLS Property Consultants for sending out your disaster team to our neighbors and providing Mina’s Italian Market & Deli - and fyi David Penny and I are safe and our home was not majorly impacted. Most importantly, no one in our neighborhood was injured.

Nothing beats a classic Caesar made from scratch! Made with homemade breadcrumbs from our fresh-baked Mina’s braided Italian, fresh anchovies from the market, and a fresh batch of home made dressing. (See below for the Homemade Caesar Dressing recipe)
Ingredients:
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 anchovies packed in oil (available at Mina’s)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ tsp kosher salt
⅛ tsp onion powder
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 cup mayonnaise
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (Available at Mina’s)
Instructions:
Blend the Flavor Base: Add the lemon juice, anchovies, garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, onion powder, and black pepper into a small food processor or blender. Process until completely smooth.
Combine & Emulsify: Add the mayonnaise and grated Parmesan cheese. Blend again until fully combined and creamy.
Serve or Store: Use immediately, or chill in an airtight jar in the refrigerator (lasts for 5 days)

Fire up your Friday plans! 🌭🔥 Starting this Friday and running all season long, we’re grilling our house-made sausages to get you sausage peppers and onion sandwiches outside every Friday late afternoon (4:00)—just follow the aroma to find us! Whether you’re stopping in for lunch or kicking off the weekend early, come catch the sizzle and grab ’em fresh off the grate while they last.
