Tap University

Well our first time in Sacramento Leighton Dance Project is hard to put into words.
EPIC day with incredibly focused and talented dancers, all willing to get in and get challenged and LEARN, and all with smiles and incredible attitudes. The students here OBVIOUSLY love to dance and have wonderful teachers/mentors to guide them. The trust between teacher and dancer and vice-versa really was awe inspiring for all of us. We did NOT want to leave! Thank you Alyson Meador for all your tireless work getting us there and the way you teach these dancers! Thank you also to EVERYONE at LDP Leighton, Derek and EVERYONE who obviously love what they do and pass that on down to these kids.
Here are a few photos of the fun! Tap Jam, slides, smiles and the NEXT generation of Tap stars!
Huge shout out also to co host DNA Dance Collective!

Next up is a NEW CITY!
Arlington VA. Perfect Pointe Dance Studio, Arlington, VA

Well it’s May 25th. IYKYK!!
I’m always talking to my students about the importance of MOVING while they tap…sometimes we get caught up In Trying to fill every second with sound but Space and movement resonate with everyone. To me we should try to CREATE space not limit it..
Here is a clip of the MASTER! Not just of tap dancing but movement, performance and connection. He was also a wonderful, supportive, conscientious human being, it was an honor just to be around him. Miss him so much. Just watch how he moooooves!
