INDUSTRY FOLKS! If you’re in food/bev/hospitality and interested in getting involved in advocacy work in that space, we’d love to see you over at ALL KINDS on Tuesday, October 27th! The James Beard Foundation is hosting a 3-hour training workshop that is a great first step (or continuing education class) to getting involved in policy change.
From their website: The James Beard Foundation’s Advocacy Training Workshop is an interactive, three-hour program designed to give chefs and independent restaurant leaders the skills and confidence to become effective advocates for their businesses, communities, and industry. Through practical exercises, participants will learn how to identify where policy intersects with the issues they experience every day, translate their expertise into compelling messages, communicate their stories to decision-makers, and make a clear and effective ask. Participants will practice the fundamentals of successful advocacy and leave with practical tools—and a concrete next step—for putting their voice and experience into action. No previous advocacy or policy experience is required.
Register through the link in our bio - hope to see you there!
