Lately, I’ve been finding myself around a lot of older saints—and today was another beautiful reminder of why I’m grateful for them.
I wasn’t able to be at church, but I listened to the second and third sermons, and they were nothing but confirmation. I praise the Lord for all He has done in my life. The treasures He’s placed in my heart are worth more than anything this fallen world can offer.
Today’s catering drop-off was especially meaningful to me. I had the honor of preparing the food for Miss Dorothy’s 99th birthday celebration. I spoke with her today, and what touched me even more was that I didn’t know this family before they booked me. They found Nora’s Southern Eats through word of mouth and my website—and I give God all the glory for that.
As I was bringing in the order, an older woman was waiting for me to set everything in the Sternos. She began speaking life over me. I looked around and saw nothing but older women. She told me the Lord wants me around the older saints, and I said, “Lord, thank You.” They are seasoned to a T, and their wisdom, encouragement, and prayers are such a blessing.
This was more than a drop-off. It was encouragement. It was favor. It was a reminder that God is good all the time—and all the time, God is good!
My inspiration: Psalm 23
