Collier-Butler Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Simon Robert Carter.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Simon Robert Carter on August 22, 2026, at the age of 65. Simon was a beloved member of the Gadsden community and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 p.m.

Please join us in keeping Simon’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.

Simon Robert Carter, 65, passed away on August 22, 2026. Born August 13, 1961, Simon’s life was marked by the steady warmth of a beloved presence and the quiet strength of a generous spirit—one that was deeply cherished by family, friends, and the community he served.

Simon was born in the Butchers Arms Pub in Laneham, Nottinghamshire, England, and was christened in October 1961 at Laneham Church. He attended Green Haven Junior School and Royal Wolverhampton School, where he completed A Levels, laying the foundation for a life shaped by diligence and care for others…

Dear Union Jack family. Sorry we have been closed with not a lot of news. It is with a very heavy heart that I have to tell you that our beloved Simon has unexpectedly passed away.i know it is a big shock to all as it is for us as well. We will announce funeral arrangements as soon as made. We are hoping to reopen The Union Jack on Friday August 28th. We would love to see all your familiar faces. We love you all and want to thank you all for the support you have shown over the years. I will tell you that Simon loved every person that ever walked through the door. Thank you
