⚾️TODAY IS ABOUT MORE THAN COFFEE ⚾️

The New Kent 12U All-Stars have put in the work. Countless practices, long tournament weekends, extra swings, extra throws, and a commitment to getting better every single day have earned them the opportunity to represent New Kent at the Virginia State Tournament.

Today, we have the opportunity to give back.

A portion of all sales at Early Bird Café today will go directly toward supporting these young athletes as they continue chasing their passion and representing our community with pride.

More importantly, today is about showing these boys they don’t just have a team behind them, they have an entire community behind them!

We’re also excited to have Rolling Dough Roadside Bakery on-site with all of her delicious homemade goodies, so come grab a coffee, pick up a sweet treat, and help us support a great group of young men.

Let’s pack the lot, support local, and show these boys what New Kent is all about.

Over the last few years, Riley has become such an important part of the Early Bird family. She may be one of the quieter members of our team, but if you’re lucky enough to know her, you know she’s got a sarcastic sense of humor that keeps us laughing and makes her impossible not to love.

Whether she’s serving your morning coffee, keeping things running behind the scenes, or accidentally going viral on TikTok because of her facial expressions, Riley is always unapologetically herself, and that’s exactly why we adore her.

She is the kind of teammate every business hopes for. Reliable, caring, hardworking, and always willing to jump in wherever she’s needed. We are incredibly thankful for everything she does and the role she plays in making Early Bird what it is.

Today we’re celebrating one of our own, Katelyn, better known around here as Junior! 🎉

Junior is creative, loves animals, and genuinely enjoys connecting with people. If you’ve ever had one of her drink creations, you know she’s not afraid to come up with some pretty unusual flavor combinations. Somehow, against all odds, they almost always turn out delicious.

Her personality, creativity, and willingness to jump in wherever needed make her a huge part of what makes Early Bird special.

We’re excited to officially kick off the Richmond Times-Dispatch Best of Richmond nomination round for Best Coffee Shop. ☕❤️

A little late making the post, but thanks to all of you it already looks like Early Bird Cafe has been showing up as a write-in nomination before we even announced it. That support truly means everything to us.

Over the past few years we’ve proudly placed 2nd, but this year we’re pushing hard for that number one spot and we want to bring our staff with us. The team behind Early Bird shows up before sunrise, works long event days, battles the heat, the cold, and the chaos, all while continuing to serve this community with heart. They deserve this recognition more than anyone.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Early Bird Cafe ❤️

Today we just want to take a moment to appreciate all of the moms out there. The ones who hold everything together, show up no matter how tired they are, love endlessly, and somehow still make it look effortless.

Whether you’re a mom, stepmom, grandma, bonus mom, or someone who fills that role in another person’s life, we hope today reminds you how valued and appreciated you truly are.

We’ll be spending part of today with our families as well, so we’ll be operating on special hours and will be open until 11am today.

Thank you for being part of our community and allowing us to be a small part of your mornings. We hope your day is filled with love, rest, and time with the people who matter most
