Bootstrapping is the process of starting and growing a company without outside investment, instead using personal finances or operating revenues to grow and put back into the business.
In my experience, the way it's gone, gain a little, invest a little, gain a little, save a little, invest back into the company more. Like playing a complicated game. Lots of moving parts.
I share this with you because so many ask me, pretty regularly, with concerned faces, "how's business?" I say "great", and I mean it. I am so thankful for the freedom to Bootstrap a business for our community. When you care deeply about a vision and an eventual outcome that you know is down the pike, you go for it. Just because business in a small town is tricky, doesn't mean it's not fun.
We are one year and seven months now into this adventure together Quincy. We've made it past the one-year mark that sees many small startups close. You have shown up, supported this bootstrapped coffeehouse, and I say, business couldn't be better. We continue to re-invest back into this shop that so many of you enjoy. Thank you for believing in the vision of the space. Thank you for allowing us to get to know you and your families...Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your day. Love, Kelsha and her pack of baristas.
