Good morning friends!

Deans is looking for a couple partners 👀
Could this be you? We have decided to offer a few sponsorship opportunities when we re-open very soon. The outside bar will be serving all of its beverages in plastic cups for obvious reasons and we anticipate going through 250-300k of those a year 😳. Now Imagine your business logo or slogan on ALL those cups! We have been quoted the cost for 300,000k cups at just under $35,000 roughly .11 cents a cup for a 3 color logo. We will feature 3 logos/businesses on every cup. You would get your logo on 1/3 of the cup, so about .4 cents a cup for each business. We will have Deans logo on 1/3 of the cup at a cost of $14,000 and we are looking for 2 local superstars to join us with a $10,000 sponsorship each for a full year and a 300,000 cup print run. Any questions shoot us a message and we discuss the opportunity in more detail.

Second, we are thinking about a stage sponsor…
Imagine your business sponsoring the live music 7 days a week! This is more of a let’s talk about some ideas kinda of thing if you’re interested. We have a ton of ideas on how to make it worth your while to be the sponsor! This would be a $10,000 sponsorship for a full year with all funds going directly into the stage for upgrades and featuring your business.

We got paint! It’s starting to look like the old Deans. Exciting!

We need to clear up a misunderstanding. We DID NOT paint over the murals, nor would we ever contemplate such a thing. We treasured them as did the community. Charles Peck is not only an esteemed artist but a long time friend. After Dean’s closed we entered a sales contract with a Canadian group. Not only did they demolish portions of the property, they painted over the murals without our knowledge or permission. By the time we found out it was too late. The sale was never completed but the damage was done and we are heartbroken at the loss of this piece of PG history. We are working on a solution to restore the murals and the building is being repainted its original color. Charles actually painted our horses, one of which passed at the age of 32, the painting is one of our prized possessions. We are proud to call him our friend and have apologized personally. Just wanted to clarify as there appears to be many rumors still circulating. The building has never been sold. This group did not lease the building. We did not destroy the murals. We understand how upsetting it is to lose something irreplaceable but we can only move forward at this time. We can’t change the past, just look forward to the future. I hope this clarifies a very sad situation.

DEAN’S WILL BE BACK
We have the greenlight to make an official announcement!

Dean’s is more than a restaurant. It’s part of the community. It’s a tradition, a place to meet, a place to celebrate. We have missed you all, it’s been a long 14 months. We are extremely grateful for this chance to return to the community we love. We would like to thank our loyal customers who have been anxiously waiting for this news and our incredible team who have made this possible. You will meet them in future posts.
So….. Dean’s will remain Dean’s, with improvements to bathrooms, bars, seating, draft system and much more. We will bring back the same great live music venue you love. Permits are in hand and work is moving full speed ahead. We’re shooting for mid to late November. Please like and follow us for lots of updates, pictures and more as we move forward. On Friday the 13th of August 2004 Hurricane Charley destroyed the original Dean’s along with many other businesses and homes. The destruction was unfathomable. The community came together to support and help one another. This is the spirit of Punta Gorda. Within several weeks we posted this message and reopened in our current location with a handwritten menu of 10 items. National Guard, Salvation Army and other organizations set up camp across the street in the still vacant shopping center. People lined up for food, water, diapers and essentials. Neighbor helped neighbor. The resilience of our community is unparalleled. Here’s to Punta Gorda, a Phoenix that rose bigger and better from the rubble. Take a look at those prices!
