The guys were closing up last night and I was winding down, reading the old articles on the wall. I just noticed that the Chieftain photo of my grandpa Nick in 1994 looks almost identical to the picture in the article they did 28 years later. He definitely taught by example… and yelling. Haha

The response to our last post has been overwhelming.

The stories, the memories, the generations of families… that’s what this place has always been about.

This was never just our restaurant — it’s always been part of Bessemer.

After 80 years, Ianne’s is being recognized as a historic landmark.

Recently, when places in our neighborhood get a notice from the city on their window… it’s bad news.

We figured it was about time we got one too.

Turns out ours is for something a little different.

The City of Pueblo is officially considering Ianne’s Pizzeria for historic landmark designation, making Ianne’s the only landmarked restaurant we could find in Pueblo.

Same building. Same family. Same recipes. Since 1945.

We’ve been here through it all — and now we’re officially never going anywhere.

If you’ve ever eaten here, worked here, or grown up with us… this is your story too.

Public hearing is April 15th at City Hall.

For 81 years, Ianne’s Pizzeria has been serving Pueblo the same way it always has — with pride, tradition, and a lot of hard work behind the scenes.

We’re proud to share that our most recent health inspection score was 2, one of the best scores possible.

Being the oldest pizzeria in Colorado means a lot to our family, but just as important to us is running one of the cleanest kitchens in Pueblo.

Thank you to our INCREDIBLE staff who take pride in doing things the right way every day, and to the Bessemer community that has supported us for so many generations.

Today, I stopped by Ianne’s Pizzeria—a local legend that’s been part of the fabric of our city since 1945. I grabbed their famous Cheeseburger Grinder, and it’s a reminder that some things are icons for a reason.

The Heart of the Steel City ⚒️

Ianne’s isn't just a restaurant; it’s a living monument to the Bessemer neighborhood. This area grew up in the shadow of the Colorado Fuel and Iron (CF&I) Steel Mill. Back in the day, CF&I was the largest employer in the state, and Bessemer was a melting pot of immigrants from over 40 different countries who came to forge the American West.

When Tony and Helen Ianne opened their doors nearly 80 years ago, they weren't just serving food—they were feeding the steelworkers who built Colorado. As the oldest pizzeria in the state, they’ve survived floods, economic shifts, and the test of time, passing their recipes down through five generations.
