Buck I’m a beagle that lives in Prospect Park. I was a stray in West Virginia for a year and they shipped me to live with this guy Joe Magee. It’s delicious.

He feeds me Roast Beef from one of his bars.

Just another day at the office.

We got a call to track a Buck early Fri. We had blood from the initial arrow strike then it went dry. I was able to track the deer 100 yards or so by sniffing out the inter digital glands from the deers hooves.

Another one down!

Poppa and I got the call around 11am to go get one of his buddy’s deer in Chaddsford. We got geared up and headed out right away…

His buddy hit a nice 8 point Buck. Waited an hour, marked heavy blood for 60-80 yards and came up dry. Circle searched a while and hit Poppa up. This was my fourth track, I was 2/2 last year and 0/1 this year.

We were walking into the woods to the spot of the shot. I found the bolt with the blood on it and started to follow the established blood trail for 60 or so yard, then I went off the trail where the marked trail took a 90 degree turn. I had a good beat on the interdigital gland scent and found the deer about half a mile away through low lying bedding type stuff.

What a great day. Wasn’t a long track. But it was a great track to solidify my confidence and legitimacy as a tracking dog.
